Veterans Park, Scramble Alley and Holly Park
The Horse Shoe Courts are the clay rather than sand. The Soddy-Daisy Veterans Park offers a wide variety of features. The walking track is a favorite place in the cool of the evening for the health minded and those that just want a little low impact exercise. The Pavilion is available for family reunions, political gatherings or just getting together with a few friends. To reserve the Pavilion call City Hall. The flag pole flys the stars and strips and the flag for the POW's - MIA's of our countries wars. The monuments are decated to the Soddy-Daisy Citizens that served and gave there life under the stars and stripes. Monuments honor those from World War I, World War II, Korean War and the Vietnam War and was dedicated on July 3, 1994. On June 30, 2001 A Huey Helicopter was placed in the air at the site and dedicated to all who served. The park also has a Gazebo and two lighted ball fields with a snack bar and rest rooms. The park is located at the 9000 block of Dayton Pike on the south end of town.
Scramble Alley is located behind the Soddy-Daisy Municipal building at 9835 Dayton Pike. The park offers a wood structure that is a maze of climbing, swinging and sliding for the young and the young of heart. Picnic tables are often used by parents and grandparents watching the kids enjoying a great outing. The new Pavilion with restrooms is nearly complete. This park is the best kept secret and you never have to fight off the crowds for your outing.
Holly Park is one of Soddy-Daisy's newest projects. Phase one is complete offering parking for both picnickers and boaters. 16 spaces are large enough for trucks with boat trailers. The double wide boat ramp allows two boats to be launched at the same time. Tables are located near the water and in the trees for those hot summer days.
