On April 26, 2007 Soddy-Daisy Police received a call of three women reaching up to the power lines with poles. The person reporting the incident was worried they would be hurt. What was found were three young girls that had been walking down the road with one tossing her house key in the air. The key was on a strap to wear around her neck. As they went under a phone line the strap hung up on the line. They were trying to reach it but could not. The police had no way of getting it so a call was made to the Soddy-Daisy Fire Department. They came to the rescue with a truck and a pike pole that would reach the key. After making sure it was a phone line and not a power line they got the key down.
As always the Soddy-Daisy Fire Department came to the rescue and quickly saved the day.
