Saved By The Belt
 
 
 
The Saved by the Belt program honors those who by clicking their seat belt were saved from serious injury or death.
 
On Thursday, June 12, 2003 Sharon Rogers was involved in a serious accident at the 9100 block of Dayton Pike in which she was wearing her seat belt while the driver of the other vehicle involved did not click the belt and received serious injury.
On Thursday, July 17, 2003 at the Soddy-Daisy Commission meeting Sharon Rogers was honored by Officer Jerry Workman who was the Police Officer responding to the accident and recommended the award to Chief Allen Branum. Chief Branum presented the award to Sharon who said as a school teacher she will use the award to help make her students aware of the importance of wearing a seat belt.
