On October 18th Soddy-Daisy Fire Department responded to a house fire on Spring Street. With the help of mutual aid fire departments the fire which had already destroyed the rear of the hose and was racing thru the attic was put out.

The house had two and possibly three roofs where a new roof was added over an existing roof. This prevented the fire department from getting to the fire quickly. The outer roofs had to be cut away to vent the hot gasses and get to the fire underneath.
