February 2006 the Soddy-Daisy Fire Department responded on a wind swept brush fire that was quickly moving towards a new house.  Firefighters arrived with 2 Engines and 1 Brush Truck. The spread of the fire towards the house was quickly stopped. Then came
the difficult task of stopping the spread up into the woods.

Firefighters ride the Brush Truck into the smoke. Then the work begins on foot.

Tennessee Forestry arrived with heavy equipment to help stop the fire in the woods.

A train came through just after the flames next to the tracks were jumping 15 feet into the air.

A large pile of wood will smolder for some time in the center of the burnt off field with no danger of spreading.
