Soddy Daisy Wired
for Business
City Plans Technology Infrastructure
to Respond to Business Demand
The city of Soddy Daisy will soon have another economic development feather in its cap with the recent announcement that EPB Telecom has added Internet infrastructure and service to the Soddy Daisy Industrial Park located at Dayton Pike and Montlake Roads. Soddy Daisy leaders believe the state-of-the- art technology will enhance their effort to lure business to their area and expand opportunities for businesses already located in the Industrial Park.
"Soddy Daisy is the fastest growing area in Hamilton County," said Janice Cagle, City Manager of Soddy-Daisy. "For us to continue to stay competitive as a business location, we need to have fast secure service that businesses can count on to grow with them and expand according to their needs."
The 20-year-old park is home to nearly a dozen businesses from manufacturing flooring, sanitation and woodworking machinery to companies offering data solutions, which have the need for fast reliable Internet in order to continue growing their businesses. According to Ms. Cagle, EPB Telecoms service was initiated in part for existing businesses. Another large component to beginning the service is the desire for Soddy-Daisy to become an area of prominent economic development.
This new connection gives businesses in the Soddy Daisy Industrial Park an edge in the global market allowing them to transmit and receive order information, communicate with clients and stay constantly connected to thebusiness world. This service gives these companies access to options and bandwidth that many much larger cities do not possess. And since EPB Telecom already had the fiber laid in this area there is no cost to the industrial park management for connection. This fits with EPB Telecoms goal of promoting economic development and fostering business growth in the Chattanooqa/Hamilton County area.
