On July2, 2006 the Soddy-Daisy Fire Department responded to a fire in a vacant house at a dead end road off of Brumlow Hollow.
The house had not been lived in for some time and the trees had grown in around it. The house was fully involved when the first unit arrived. The fire department prevented the spread of the fire from going into the trees but the vacant house was a total loss.
As you can see the road was grown over also making approaching and fighting the fire more difficult.
