On Monday, April 23, 2007 the Soddy-Daisy Fire Department was dispatched on a call on Lovell Road. We were told it was a very large brush fire that was from a controlled burn that got away.

It was found to be at the end of a long dirt road at the top of a hill. The fire was a big fire but not over a large area. A controlled burn had skipped to another pile of brush and logs and had the potential of spreading further. The property owner had a dozer and was cutting a fire break. The newest brush truck responded with about 10 Firefighters. The spread of the fire was quickly stopped and the fire was brought under control.
