On Friday, 3/30/07 the Soddy-Daisy Fire Department responded on a fire call near the railroad tracks at thrasher Pike. It was found to be in the City of Chattanooga so Chattanooga Fire was called. The State Forestry Firefighters also arrived with 2 bulldozers. The fire was about 1/4 mile from the road and the bulldozer or fire engines could not get to it. Soddy-Daisy Firefighters were the first to get to the fire followed by Forestry and Chattanooga. Railroad personnel arrived and shut down the tracks so Chattanooga could drive a brush truck down the tracks to get water to the fire.
